Seaweed has been used as a soil conditioner since ancient times. Today they are an important component of biostimulants and biofertilizers. Algae, especially brown algae, contain many nutrients and natural growth hormones. They promote soil fertility and plant growth. They can also bind atmospheric nitrogen and help plants absorb nutrients. Brown algae are found primarily along the coasts of Europe and the North Atlantic. They make plants more resistant to environmental stresses and improve soil structure.
